Radii Footwear Fall/Winter 09 Sneaker Collection

Radii (ray-dee-eye) Footwear, which was launched from Southern California last year, has been seen on the feet of celebs such as Jay-Z, members of the Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, and many others. Under the guidance of the 26 year old designer, Casey Arisohn, Radii is releasing their Fall/Winter 09 collection with plans of making a big splash in the shoe industry. Here are a few looks from the collection, prices range from $85 to $120.

Radii Footwear – Fall 2009 Collection

As a newcomer to the sneaker game, Radii has certainly done well for itself over the past year, landing spots on the feet of some of the biggest names around. With celebrities like Jay-Z, Flo Rida, The Black Eyed Peas, and Travis McCoy caught rocking their footwear, the brand has no intention of fading into the background of the industry. Their latest collection plays it safe with a handful of classic colorways of their models, the 420 Top, FM 1020, FM 1022, and Straight Jacket. Radii Footwear Straight Jacket “Gold”

It takes the right sneaker to successfully pull off a solid gold colorway. While ever footwear company has attempted to pursue the look, few have done so with success. With Radii Footwear’s strapped and zipped Straight Jacket being one of the wildest silhouette’s we’ve seen in some time, no other shoe could be more fitting right now to take on the risk of sporting a gold exterior. The entire upper of the sneaker, including the straps, zipper and tongue, are completely covered in metallic gold, while a black outsole and black laces provide some contrast to the tonal base. Nothing screams look at me louder than a pair of gold sneakers. If you’re feeling em hit up  and pick yourself up a pair for $120.

Jay-Z Has Been Wearing The Radii 420 Top

On September 11th, 2009 Jay-Z and company put on the ‘Answer The Call’ benefit concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. When Jay-Z walked out onto the stage for the night he was seen wearing a pair of high-top sneakers which a huge strap across the ankle. Then he showed up on the Jay Leno show last night with Kanye and Rhinna wearing the same sneakers. After this many folks started speculating on what exactly the sneakers were, whether they were a new model part of his Rocawear footwear collection or something from a company which has yet to hit the mainstream.
Thanks to some comments on Twitter we have learned that Jay-Z was rocking a pair of sneakers from Radii , more specifically a design known at the 420 Top, one of five models Radii produces at the moment. Hov hasnt been the only artist or celebrity to rock Radii sneaker though, i guess just due to the fact he has gotten so much TV coverage lately the sneakers have really caught the eyes of viewers in the past few days. Artists such as the Black Eyed Peas, Flo Ride and Travis from Gym Class Heroes have also been seen rocking Radii Footwear.
If their collaboration with IM King back in July didnt give them enough exposer to the consumers having a hugely followed hip hop icon like Jay-Z wearing the sneakers is defiantly bound to give them a nice little bump into the limelight. Radii (pronounced rey-dee-eye) Footwear is a great example of why those who really know what ‘quality’ is, know it’s about choosing only the finest things.
Although still very young, Radii Footwear which was established in Fall 2008, has captured the attention of Hollywood’s A-listers such as Jay-Z (who repped Radii Footwear to a couple of his biggest concerts), Taboo from Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida and many more. SoJones.com gets the exclusive coverage from the man behind the brand, Casey Arishon.
Introduce yourself and describe how Radii Footwear was started?
My name is Casey Arisohn. Radii Footwear was started after a long career in retail and production, there was an opportunity to launch a truly unique brand that catered to a demographic that had an eye for fashion and art.
We know your brand is the favorite of world-class celebs. How did it all happen?
It was strictly a result of having a product that people really gravitated towards. Most of the celebrities contacted us initially. We were focused on making great quality product and helping our retailers make money, so the celebs were more an afterthought at first. We love telling the story how Jay Z actually bought his first two pair of shoes.

What differs Radii from any other celeb-favorite footwears?
I wouldn’t say much as far as celebs go. We all make good shoes, and celebs generally get product for free, but we definitely have capitalized on what they want. It’s a supply and demand thing. We make product that is in high demand with very little that is similar to us out there. Whether it be color, materials, or styles, we try to offer something a little different and eye catching.

RADii Footwear x Jay-Z 420 Top

Everyone is talking about the black and white shoes Jay-Z was wearing at the Honda Center concert and his recent Madison Square Garden sold out event. People are saying that it’s a new Rocawear shoe or maybe it’s a new collaboration with a shoe company. Who knows, right? Well, through some digging, we have found out what the multiple-strap-vulcanized shoe is.

The shoe Jigga man was wearing is called the RADii 420 top. It’ s a shoe that comes from a company named, you guessed it, RADii, which is based in Southern California. The ‘Creative Director’ previously worked in the business of sports boutiques for 10 + years.

Radii (ray-dee-eye) Footwear was launched in Southern California during the Fall of 2008. Radii’s founders came from a long illustrious career in retail therefore, they were able to see what the consumer was really interested in and create a brand that has the true pulse of the customers.

Radii is a unique lifestyle brand designed to reflect each individual’s unique personality from the feet up. With futuristic designs and materials, each shoe exudes confidence for the ambitious forward-thinkers of the world.

The shoes come in many materials, colorways, and models. Some make-ups have a mixture of materials, from patent leather, to full and sectioned off perf, full gummy soles, regular and metallic leather. The models they have, with an un-named boat shoe, are the Radii 420 Top (men and woman’s model), 420 Low, Straight Jackets, Stranglers and the Thrillers. They have also done a super limited collaboration with IM King that included two 420 top colorways (image below).

What you may not know is that the RADii 420 Top has been on a few celebrities feet already. Flo Rida wore a pair at Today Show and Taboo, from the Black Eye Peas, wore the stranglers at the red carpet entrance to the Teen Choice Awards ’09. Than wore the same 420 top model, that Flo Rida wore, to the Teens Choice Award stage performance (images below). Also, Travis from Gym Class Heroes was seen backstage with the all white 420 Top.
